Our Digital Economy team supports the growth of New Zealand’s digital sector and the uptake and smart use of information and communication technologies (ICT) across the economy.

Our programme of work focuses on:
- supporting New Zealanders to harness the social and commercial benefits of increased digitalisation
- encouraging businesses to maximise their use of digital technologies to improve their productivity
- providing leadership within government to understand the potential impacts on New Zealand's society and the economy of new technologies such as augmented and virtual reality, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.
We also work with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) on digital inclusion and digital government issues.
