Who we are

We build capability across government to design and deliver appropriate and accessible dispute resolution.

Our role

We build capability across government to design and deliver appropriate and accessible dispute resolution. This includes providing advice and support to dispute resolution schemes and government agencies on best practice.

We contribute to effective regulatory stewardship by supporting schemes to learn from disputes and improve how dispute resolution services are designed and delivered.

How we work

Kotahi is one of our core values. We develop tools and resources using a design approach and work with our stakeholders along the way.

Our mission

Our mission is to grow a mana-enhancing dispute resolution system for Aotearoa.  This means a system that is responsive to the diverse needs of people with disputes. Making it easier for people to resolve issues and disputes will contribute to New Zealand’s recovery from the impact of COVID 19 and help to improve wellbeing and productivity.

How we can help you

If you are a scheme that provides dispute resolution for government, we can help you assess how well you are meeting best practice.

We can also connect you with other schemes to share insights and good practice, or collaborate on initiatives to improve your services.

If you are a government agency, we can help you design policy, legislation and services for dispute resolution using a best practice lens. We can also guide you in establishing a new scheme or reviewing an existing scheme.
