Tēnei tūranga – About the role

The Senior Relationship Manager eInvoicing is responsible for creating, building and maintaining relationships with large, influential organisations operating in New Zealand to encourage them to adopt eInvoicing. This is primarily externally focused on building relationships outside of MBIE.

The Senior Relationship Manager eInvoicing will be responsible for supporting business to be eInvoicing enabled. This will include attending events, providing advice and information and connecting them with the support people in the MBIE eInvoicing team and other providers.

Personal specifications

  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience working between Government and the private sector or in the private sector. This role will be working with large and small businesses, government agencies and solution providers as we build the credibility of the eInvoicing network across New Zealand.
  • The ability to persuade and influence people in external organisations to devote time, money and resources to adopt eInvoicing and to encourage their customers to adopt.
  • A high level of understanding and appreciation of the political landscape and wider Government communication priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an environment focused on continuous improvement to enhance organisational performance.
  • Proven ability to work closely with delivery staff to ensure that the customer experience is understood and reflected in communications development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of partnership / stakeholder engagement disciplines and processes.
  • Understanding of Government decision-making and operating procedures would be an advantage.
  • Experience and knowledge of either finance and finance systems or cloud software would be beneficial.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive and comparable relevant experience (i.e relationship / partnership management).
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
  • Credit check required.

eInvoicing

  • Develop and maintain relationships with large, influential businesses and government agencies in New Zealand, to enable them to develop the capability for eInvoicing and promote its uptake with their customers.
  • Builds appropriate and effective relationships with businesses that can contribute to the adoption and growth of eInvoicing in NZ. This may include industry associations.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of clients’ industry and business, assists the partners in the formation of eInvoicing adoption strategies, and plans.
  • Work alongside the Manager Marketing Communications and the Marketing Support Advisor to support the organisations they engage with. This will include providing them with tools and resources to support adoption and providing feedback to the marketing communications team on their needs of the partners.
  • Develop relationship management plans for each key relationship including the setting of key objectives.

Relationship management

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and customers in order to promote eInvoicing. Key relationships include; Large and small businesses, government agencies, industry bodies, software providers, Peppol Access Point Providers, and the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Participates as an active team member and contributes knowledge and expertise needed to achieve eInvoicing’s outcomes.
  • Represents whole-of-Ministry views and protects its reputation in any external interactions.

Wellbeing, health & safety

  • Displays commitment through actively supporting all safety and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Ensures own and others safety at all times.
  • Complies with relevant safety and wellbeing policies, procedures, safe systems of work and event reporting.
  • Reports all incidents/accidents, including near misses in a timely fashion.
  • Is involved in health and safety through participation and consultation.

The Senior Relationship Manager eInvoicing position will report to the Manager, Adoption within the eInvoicing branch. The eInvoicing branch sits within the Finance & Performance Group.
