Summary
The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) is consulting publicly about an agreement that will allow agencies to more easily share information with the cross-Government Gang Intelligence Centre.
The Gang Intelligence Centre has been operating for eight months. It was set up to reduce the harm caused by gangs, both to the public, and within gang families. Member agencies include Customs, Corrections, Police, MSD, MBIE, Internal Affairs, Inland Revenue, and Housing New Zealand.
MBIE (Immigration New Zealand) is a member of the Gang Intelligence Centre. Member agencies, as well as those considering becoming members, are publicly consulting about a formal arrangement known as an Approved Information Sharing Agreement (AISA), to allow information to be shared freely and efficiently.
