Kickstarting the national engagement with the Startup Advisors Council

Published: 05 September 2022

The Startup Advisors Council is undertaking a series of nationwide stakeholder consultations with members of New Zealand’s start-up ecosystem.

The purpose of the engagements is to assist the Council to identify the areas of greatest need to accelerate the growth and maturation of the ecosystem, unlock the potential of innovative NZ companies, enable more start-ups to be created and scaled up, lift productivity and wages and support the government’s economic development objectives.

The Startup Advisors Council was established to support greater alignment of government interventions to develop New Zealand’s startup ecosystem, enabling more targeted policies to address areas of greatest need. MBIE provides the Secretariat role to the Startup Council. Our role is to facilitate the Council to enable more startups to be created and scaled up, and accelerate the growth and maturation of the ecosystem to unlock the potential of innovative New Zealand companies.
