Māuitanga and innovation pou
Starting quarter 2, 2024: procure and report on what could innovation look like in the tourism data system (deliver quarter 3)
Starting quarter 3, 2024: develop priority work plan (including for TEIC); procure and research Māori tourism data needs (deliver quarter 4)
Starting in quarter 4, 2024: MBIE/other existing core datasets integrated into a new landing page (e.g., iwi/Māori breakdowns are enabled), procure and source new data
Quarter 1, 2025: data gap 1 design begins

Starting quarter 3, 2024: Identification of existing data, integration into TEIC; Design sustainable tourism measurement framework and metrics (includes identification of gaps), capturing regenerative tourism ‘measurement’; Redesign Community Sentiment measure with a regional lens

Starting in quarter 2, 2024 and ongoing: Stakeholder communications/engagement (including a specific Māori focus) enabling regional and local involvement; Long-term perspective and policy integration; monitoring and reporting
Quarter 3, 2024: Partnership fund activated; Sustainable co-funding model consultation and refinement
Quarter 4, 2024: Sustainable co-funding model operationalisation; paper: capability needs assessment
Quarter 1, 2025: New model of co-investment is ongoing; new governance model with industry representation; paper: uplift plan
Quarter 2, 2025: Industry capability development programme (including a specific Māori focus)
Quarter 3, 2025: Commission/undertake evaluation regarding ongoing monitoring and reporting
Where appropriate, all Pou will consider innovation, as well as Māori perspectives/needs and look to provide improved data for Māori and Māori businesses.
