What we do
New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) supports MBIE’s Chief Executive in their role as system leader for government procurement.

We deliver the Ministry's procurement system leadership objectives through a collaborative, centre-led approach.
We help government agencies by:
- building procurement capability within their agency through training and development opportunities, and other tools and resources
- providing support, advice and expertise
- making procurement easier through systems and frameworks that support quality decision making.
We help government maximise public value by leveraging procurement to support economic growth. This includes promoting efficiency, competition and support for New Zealand businesses.
We provide a procurement framework, including the Government Procurement Rules, that enables best practice procurement.
We manage the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS), Procure Connect and New Zealand’s All-of-Government (AoG) contracts for common goods and services. AoG contracts save agencies money, time and effort by leveraging government’s collective purchasing power.
