Independent review into the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)

Findings of an independent review into the AEWV was released in February 2024.

The independent review was led by Jenn Bestwick. The objective of the review was to determine whether Immigration New Zealand’s (INZ) administration of the scheme is being carried out appropriately, with a focus on mitigating the risk of migrant exploitation and irregular migration.

The findings of the review have now been announced by Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment is proactively releasing the documents provided to the AEWV reviewer. These documents are those that are unclassified and may provide context to matters referred to in the Commission’s report. These documents may contain redactions for privacy, national security, legal or other reasons. Information unrelated to the review of AEWV has also been withheld.
