The Tourism Sentiment Survey (TSS)

The Tourism Sentiment Survey (TSS) measures New Zealanders’ perceptions of tourism and its impacts at national, regional and destination levels.

This release presents results from the first wave of the Tourism Sentiment Survey (TSS) following the summer tourism season (2025/26).  It presents New Zealanders’:

  • Sentiment towards tourism in New Zealand overall
  • The perceived impact of tourism in New Zealand
  • Sentiment towards tourism in different regions
  • How New Zealanders engage with tourism.

The next release will include Wave 2 post-winter 2026 results. We plan to release the Wave 2 results in December 2026.
