The Advanced Genomics Research Platform (Genomics Aotearoa) is funded as a Strategic Science Investment Fund (SSIF) Infrastructure Platform to ensure that New Zealand is internationally participating in and leading the rapidly developing fields of genomics and bioinformatics. Te Whare Wānanga o Ōtākou – the University of Otago is the host of the platform.
We are inviting proposals for joint research partnerships between New Zealand and Chinese research organisations.
26 Nationally Significant Collections and Databases are directly funded by MBIE for $22 million (excluding GST) to June 2027.

Through the 2025 Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund funding round, the Government is investing in 16 projects that will strengthen capability, innovation capacity and networks between Māori and the science, innovation and technology system, for the benefit of New Zealand.
