The latest Energy Quarterly data release from the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) shows renewables generated 94.5% of all electricity in the March 2026 quarter, up from 83.2% in the same quarter last year, says MBIE Domains Manager Amapola Generosa.
The September 2025 quarter saw 89.4% of all electricity generated from renewable sources, with hydro, geothermal and solar leading the charge, says Amapola Generosa, Domains Manager, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
