About the project

A national online platform providing a system-wide view of publicly funded research in New Zealand. The New Zealand Research Information System (NZRIS) is being developed as a national online platform that will bring together information on publicly funded research from across New Zealand’s research, science and innovation system. By combining data from research funders and organisations in a single system, NZRIS will provide a more complete view of research activity and investment, supporting greater transparency, collaboration and evidence-based decision making.

The platform is freely available to researchers, businesses, government agencies, students, media and the public.

Current focus

Completing delivery and preparing for closure by December 2026.

Latest update

The project is in its second and final year. Delivery remains on track and no return-to-green action is required.
