About the project

The project is modernising TIKA, the case-management system used by investigators across MBIE, by upgrading it from on-premises infrastructure to a cloud-hosted service with browser-based access. A common system supports safer field work, clearer information sharing, more consistent investigation practices and less administrative effort across employment, tenancy, immigration and other regulatory activities. The project is upgrading MBIE’s investigation case-management systems to a cloud product. Scope and timeframe have increased, and technical environment delays are being managed.

Current focus

Competitive procurement and a phased go-live to reduce cost, delivery and transition risk.

Latest update

The project is in year 3 of 4. Its scope has expanded, requiring additional funding and time, while delays in providing technical environments are being monitored for downstream impacts.

Path to Green

The project will use a competitive procurement process and phased go-live approach to manage cost, risk and delay.

  • A secure, supported cloud platform for investigation case management.
