We make the Monthly Regional Tourism Estimates (MRTEs) more accurate by updating them with spending data from Stats NZ's annual Tourism Satellite Account.

MBIE acknowledges that the outbreak of coronavirus creates some uncertainty looking ahead. This Quarterly Tourism Report provides a retrospective look at the performance of the sector, so the impacts of the outbreak are not included. The Business Events Delegate Survey collected expenditure and length of stay data from multi-day business event delegates through an online survey, from 2009 to 2019.
