IVL annual performance reports
The IVL annual performance reports are co-owned by MBIE and the Department of Conservation. They record how the revenue generated by the IVL is allocated, and measure the yearly progress made by the projects the IVL funds. Each reporting year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

The IVL came into effect in 2019. It ensures that international visitors contribute to tourism and conservation projects that benefit communities, visitors and the environment.
Up until 30 September 2024, the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) was a $35 levy charge. From July 2024 the levy charge increased to $100. This charge is applied to most international visitors to Aotearoa at the time they apply for their visas or New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA).
