Closed tourism funds

The Tourism Growth Partnership and Regional Mid-sized Tourism Facilities Grant Fund closed in 2017. Remaining funds were rolled into the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

Tourism Growth Partnership

The Tourism Growth Partnership was set up to fund industry-led commercial projects focused on increasing productivity across the tourism sector. Between 2013 and 2017, 40 projects received $23.4 million in funding.

When the fund closed in 2017 all remaining funds were rolled into to the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

Regional Mid-sized Tourism Facilities Grant Fund

The Regional Mid-sized Tourism Facilities Grant Fund was set up to fund projects in regions experiencing infrastructure pressure (eg, car parks and toilets) due to an increase in visitors.

During Round 1 and 2 of the fund 32 projects received funding.

When the Fund closed in 2017 all remaining funds were rolled into the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.

Innovation Programme for Tourism Recovery

The Innovation Programme for Tourism Recovery was a contestable fund for projects that will have meaningful impact across the tourism system.

Transition Fund for Local Authorities

The government provided $10 million ($5 million each year) through the Freedom Camping Transition Fund to support local authorities to undertake activities relating to the transition to the new freedom camping rules during 2022/23 and 2023/24. This funding was contestable.
