Fees and waivers
We take the recovery of the money owed for MIQ stays very seriously. Fundamentally it is taxpayers money and people should repay what they owe.
Group allocations
The group allocation process for MIQ was established in February 2021. All group allocations were decided by the Border Exception Ministerial Group, which was led by the Minister of Immigration, and implemented by MIQ.
Self-Isolation Pilot
The Self-Isolation Pilot ran from 30 October to 18 December 2021 and tested some of the systems and processes that would be needed to roll out self-isolation more widely.
