Parental leave payments to increase from 1 July 2023
Feedback was received from a public consultation on better protections for vulnerable contractors in 2020.
Contracting arrangements, or contracts for services, are a fundamental part of our labour market, and are used across nearly all sectors of the economy.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has recently released the National Survey of Employment Intentions (NSEI). This reports on changes in workforce size and composition, and workplace arrangements between March 2020 and 6 and 12 months later.

Plan of Action against forced labour, people trafficking and slavery
The Plan of Action provides a high-level framework for the actions that government agencies will undertake over 5 years to 2025 to contribute to eliminating forced labour, people trafficking and slavery.
The Employment Relations Amendment Act 2018 gives effect to the Government’s 100-day commitments in workplace relations.

The all-of-government plan of action against forced labour, people trafficking and slavery sets out a high-level framework for the actions that agencies will take over the next five years to 2025, to combat these practices.
