Destination Management planning can apply to a macro-area, region, district or specific location. All of these layers are relevant in the context of the destination and stakeholder needs.
The Government is investing in an infrastructure platform for 2 nationally significant longitudinal studies, the Christchurch Health and Development Study, and the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Study.
The following principles are put forward to guide the visitor economy’s transition towards the desired Future State. Embracing these principles will ensure greater acceptance of the change process, while also supporting momentum and maintaining a realistic pace of change. Balancing urgency with inclusion may be a challenge and having clear guiding principles can make an equitable approach is followed.
The Government has released a new national strategy to support the future development of geothermal energy.
