Tēnei tūranga – About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to grow the New Zealand economy through the regional engagement of a team of locally-based Relationship Managers, Migrant Skills Retention. This role leads and manages the Settlement Unit’s Relationship Manager team who engage and influence at a regional and national level to improve migrant skills retention outcomes. The role also has national responsibility for ensuring the quality of purchased services provided by third party service providers and for the Unit’s support for Pacific migrants across New Zealand.

Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience at a senior level in a relevant discipline.

The Manager, Regional Migrant Skills Retention will be required to deliver results in the following areas:
- Ensuring all members of the Relationship Manager team: understand, and have ownership of the Unit’s service delivery model; have the information, knowledge connections and capability required to do their job, and are well-managed to ensure their work is aligned to the Unit’s priorities.
- Taking an oversight role of the services provided by third party providers at a national level, and assisting the Relationship Manager, External Providers to problem solve where necessary.
- Taking an active oversight role for the Settlement Unit’s Pacific engagement strategy including: offshore orientation products, translated brochures; information products for new Pacific migrants and their employers; cross-INZ engagement with Pacific communities, and Pacific employer engagement.
- Playing a leadership role to ensure Regional Partnership Agreements and other regional relationships are successful and help contribute to the region’s priorities and to SPA’s required outcomes.
- Providing support for the National Manager around key relationships and strategically important projects and activities.
- Contributing to the overall strategy and operation of the Unit as a member of the Settlement Unit management team.
