Tēnei tūranga – About the role
The Remuneration and Reward Advisor has a wide scope and is responsible for managing the varying day to day Remuneration & Reward requests received from the business; delivering timely, high quality, accurate and consistent remuneration advice, as well as delivering solutions and initiatives centred on business' needs. The Advisor will also be required to work with external vendors and agencies to gather data, complete analysis and share accordingly.
The Remuneration and Reward Advisor will contribute to the successful operations of the Remuneration & Reward team. The team is responsible for providing quality expert remuneration and reward advice to the organisation and will play an active part in supporting key projects with a remuneration and reward focus, such as annual reviews, job evaluation and pay frameworks as well as pay equity and collective bargaining support.
The Remuneration and Reward Advisor will work within this context is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of advice and practices in relation to their contribution to the team’s work.

Personal specifications
- Demonstrated experience in an HR Advisory role.
- Confident with the ability to provide advice in the broader remuneration, recognition and job evaluation fields.
- Ability to interpret information and convert into usable insights.
- Ability and willingness to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work.
- Can-do attitude and the ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships inside and outside of the team.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders anticipate risks and recommend best options to meet information needs.
- Ability to manage an information request from early discussion to delivery.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal which can be used at varying levels.
- Good Excel Skills.
- Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and staff.
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Human Resource Management, or comparable relevant experience.
- Completion of Job Evaluation training is desirable.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
Takohanga tuhinga o mua – Key accountabilities and deliverables
The Advisor Remuneration and Reward will be required to deliver results in the following areas:
- Manage the Job Evaluation Process for the team/business, which includes evaluations, communications & document maintenance. Also providing recommendations to P&C Advisory for approvals. Escalating as required or outsourcing based on requirement.
- Investigation of Band, Range and Remuneration anomalies.
- Undertake market analysis to determine cost and potential savings and implications between existing employees and contract conversions.
- CAPP Framework Phases 1 & 2: Dealing with day to day queries/CRM requests from the business. Contacting relevant agencies for information on rem ranges for roles as a market guide.
- Supporting the Tier 2 & 20+ Bands Remuneration Review process as required.
- Undertaking market matching & analysis across roles at MBIE and investigate anomolies.
- Managing Offshore Allowances and the Leave Entitlements process in-conjunction with Advisory, Payroll & Immigration New Zealand.
- Recognition/Service Programme: Actively participate and contribute on process development & implementation. Support the ongoing process through reporting and approvals as required.
- Triaging the Remuneration Team multiple email inboxes. Taking ownership of issues, raising cases via CRM and escalating as appropriate.
- Managing the annual Salary Survey Data submissions in conjunction with our suppliers.
- Other Remuneration Team activities as required. These may include work on benefits, policy, communications and project work.
