Reporting to the Capability Lead - Business Analysis, the Business Analyst has a significant opportunity in the team to influence the quality of outcomes we are delivering to our stakeholders. By applying our industry experience, we are able to not just capture but prioritise requirements, making informed decisions which increase the overall effectiveness of the projects and systems we deliver.
As a trusted advisor we provide practical advice and guidance to both users and developers; we can ensure we are delivering business solutions which are more than just fit for purpose, tools to take the Ministry forward in its ability to deliver public services. The Group’s purpose is to enable and empower the functions of our core business through effective use of technology: the implementation of services and systems which strengthen the way our Ministry delivers services, delivers on the outcomes required by Government. We support the MBIE business areas as a team of specialist subject matter experts with in-depth domain knowledge, to optimise delivery across the business.
This is done by:
- Identifying and defining opportunities for improvement.
- The use of process improvement tools and techniques to analyse an existing business process.
- Providing IT solutions perspective.
- Know how to translate understanding of the business improvement needs into IT solution.
- requirements to create effective and innovative business solutions.

Personal Specifications
- You will have at least 3 years’ experience in a related Business Analyst role.
- You are a trusted advisor to diverse Stakeholder base.
- You have confidence in your decision making.
- You are seen as a subject matter expert for Business Analysis.
- You have demonstrable experience with the software development lifecycle and Agile practices.
- You are well networked and respected in the industry.
- You have a flexible and adaptive approach to maximize the value of the solution.

- You have clear communication skills as well as great interpersonal skills with clarity in expression.
- You are result oriented with a positive, result driven attitude.
