Migration trends data explorer
The Migration trends data explorer enables users of migration data to easily access the data they need to address the overarching research themes and enduring questions that relate to migration in New Zealand.
Migrant Employment Data
The Migrant Employment Data (MED) combines Immigration New Zealand’s visa data with Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax data to provide measures of how many people are engaged in the labour market each month, by industry, visa type, geographic area, and demographic characteristics.

Migrant Trends 2016-2017 is the 17th in an annual report series examining trends in temporary and permanent migration to and from New Zealand.

We survey recent migrants about their experiences of life in New Zealand and report on their settlement outcomes. We also survey New Zealanders about their perceptions of migrants and immigration to better understand community attitudes.
Community Organisation Refugee Sponsorship Category Evaluation
In June 2016, Cabinet approved the piloting of the Community Organisation Refugee Sponsorship Category (CORS) as an alternative form of admission for up to 25 refugees in 2017/18.

Samoan Quota and Pacific Access Category settlement information pilot evaluation
Findings from the evaluation of the 2018 pilot of strengthened settlement information for the Pacific Access Category (PAC) and Samoan Quota (SQ) ballot winners. The purpose of the evaluation is to understand whether the pilot was successful in helping PAC and SQ migrants prepare for a new life in New Zealand. This will provide a view on how the resources and processes could be improved in the future to better help Pacific migrants plan for life in New Zealand.
Three Years On: English and employment outcomes of former refugees
The New Zealand Refugee Resettlement Strategy was developed and implemented in 2013 with the aim of improving outcomes for former refugees.
Global impact visa evaluation reports
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment began a 4 year pilot of the Global Impact Visa (GIV) in mid-2017. An evaluation of the pilot was commenced in late-2017. The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the implementation, outputs and early outcomes of the Global Impact Visa pilot.
