Immigration Act 2009 amendments

Amendments to the Immigration Act 2009 are to ensure that immigration is managed in a way that balances the national interest, as determined by the Crown, and the rights of individuals (as per Section 3 of the Act).

Immigration (Enhanced Risk Management) Amendment Bill

The Government has introduced a Bill to increase the effectiveness of immigration compliance and enforcement, improve the integrity of the refugee and protection system, and improve the operation of the wider immigration system.

Immigration (Fiscal Sustainability and System Integrity) Amendment Act 2025

The Government has passed an Amendment Act that makes targeted amendments to the Immigration Act 2009 focussed on improving both the fiscal sustainability and the integrity of the immigration system.
