The Consumers’ Right to Know (Country of Origin of Food) Act 2018 (the Act) was passed in December 2018. The Act requires the making of a consumer information standard under the Fair Trading Act 1986 to prescribe requirements for the disclosure of the country or place of origin of certain foods.
The purpose of this consultation is to get feedback on proposed country specific localisation requirements, to enable the exchange of e-Invoices in Australia and New Zealand using the PEPPOL international interoperability framework.
Consultation on the review of section 36 of the Commerce Act relating to the misuse of market power, along with other minor changes began on 25 January 2019 and closed on 1 April 2019.
We are consulting with government agencies, suppliers and interested public to get their feedback before we present suggested amendments to Government. This will be the 4th edition of the Rules, since their inception in 2013.
