The Strategy provides direction for the maritime security sector that contributes to New Zealand’s national security through a common approach, which coordinates investment decisions and resource prioritisation amongst different bodies and agencies.
MBIE is the lead agency responsible for illegal interference in maritime infrastructure, and preventing a maritime mass arrival of irregular migrants, both of which are components of the Strategy.
