New Zealand is a founding member of APEC which promotes trade and economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region. MBIE’s responsibilities include participating in APEC meetings including the Human Resources Development Working Group and its networks (the Labour and Social Protection Network and the Capacity Building Network).
There was a good response to the consultation, with around 200 submissions being received.
On 18 April 2024, MBIE on behalf of the Minister for ACC released a consultation document on proposed changes to regulations made under the Accident Compensation Act 2001, essentially addressing the following three topics: Chinese medicine, paramedics, and audiometrists.
The Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety announced today that from 1 July 2024, parental leave payments will increase.
