At the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), everything we do is about Growing New Zealand for all.
Foreword from Carolyn Tremain, Secretary for Business, Innovation and Employment and Chief Executive and other key information about the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
We deliver and support many services that touch on the daily lives of New Zealanders.
We are strengthening access to official information by publishing responses to Departmental Official Information Act (OIA) requests of public interest.
MBIE manages board appointment processes for a large number of Crown entities, Crown entity companies, statutory bodies and advisory boards on behalf of responsible Ministers.
Everything we do at MBIE is about growing New Zealand for all. We recognise that a strong economy is one in which we use the skills, knowledge and time of our people in conjunction with our natural resources, and financial and physical capital to improve the wellbeing of current and future generations.
We produce Briefings to Incoming Ministers (BIMs) following a general election or change in minister. They provide an introduction to each portfolio and summarise key areas of policy and policy issues.
Information gathering for regulatory compliance, law enforcement and protective security purposes.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has today confirmed that Commerce Commission chairperson, Anna Rawlings, will not seek further appointment when her term concludes later this year.
