Summary

On 19 June 2018, we released a discussion document seeking feedback on whether the residential addresses of New Zealand company directors should continue to be published on the companies register if a director identification number (DIN) is introduced.

A DIN is a unique identification number, which would be assigned to each New Zealand company director and recorded against their name on the companies register. The government is considering whether to introduce a DIN, as recommended by the Insolvency Working Group.

The deadline for submissions on the discussion document is 5pm, 3 August 2018.
