Space and Aerospace consultations closing soon

Published: 26 October 2022

Monday 31 October is the final day to have your say on the New Zealand Space Policy Review and development of the Aotearoa New Zealand Aerospace Strategy.

These two consultations opened for public submissions on 5 September.

The New Zealand Space Policy Review consultation poses a series of questions around the interests, values and objectives that underpin New Zealand’s space policies. Feedback received through this consultation will contribute to the development of a National Space Policy that captures and reflects New Zealand’s values.

Submissions will also inform future space policy development, including any regulatory or legislative changes to the Outer Space and High-altitude Activities Act 2017, and guide public engagement on space topics.

The Aotearoa New Zealand Aerospace Strategy consultation seeks feedback on the contents of a strategy to support the growth of a New Zealand aerospace sector that is thriving, innovative and safe.

This Strategy will focus on innovation and economic development drivers and set the overall broad direction for the sector, align activities across the government and the sector, and inform policy and regulatory development.

More information about both consultations and how to submit is available on the ‘Have your say’ section of the MBIE website:
