Tourism Infrastructure Fund: Round 3 funding recipients

Round 3 of the Tourism Infrastructure Fund awarded funding to 40 applications with a total of $11,770,707 awarded in June 2019.

Ashburton District Council

$739,945 for the upgrade of Rakaia Salmon site.

Buller District Council

$231,000 for Feasibility Studies into Punakaiki Wastewater Supply, Wastewater Compliance Review, and a Wastewater Detailed Feasibility Study.

Central Hawkes Bay District Council

$406,896 for the upgrade of drinking water, ablution facilities and installation of new larger capacity reservoir at Te Paerahi Beach.

Central Otago District Council

$247,500 for installation of new toilet facilities in Clyde.

Christchurch City Council

$86,790 for installation of wi-fi ready, solar powered BigBelly bins on Banks Peninsula

Clutha District Council

$468,500 for installation of larger capacity toilets in Balclutha and Milton.

$82,525 for establishment of a dump station in Balclutha.

Coromandel Independent Living Trust

$531,017 for the provision of a public amenities block as part of the community hub.

Dunedin City Council

$558,900 for development of Tunnel Beach area, additional parking and toilet facilities.

Gisborne District Council

$189,600 for solar compacting bins and waterless toilet.

Hastings District Council

$192,000 for the upgrade of carpark at Maraetotara Falls and sealing of freedom camping area at Clifton Road Reserve.

$80,167 for development of a freedom camping carpark and rubbish facilities at the Kaiaua Terminus of Hauraki Rail Trail.

Hurunui District Council

$935,808 for installation of new public toilet facilities at: Hurunui River, Glenmark Drive, Hanmer River, Conical Hill Road, Brook Dawson Reserve.

Marlborough District Council

$208,068 for the upgrade and install a larger public toilet facility on Picton High Street.

$247,500 for the upgrade and install a larger public toilet at Seymour Square in Blenheim.

$55,000 for redevelopment of public toilet facility at Taylor Dam Reserve in Blenheim.

$17,500  for upgrade of public toilet facility at Hodder Bridge.

$25,000 for a Feasibility Study into Freedom Camping in Marlborough

$190,000 for the upgrade of carpark and entrance to Sanctuary Mountain, Maungatautari.

Queenstown Lakes District Council

$289,248 for enhancements to Bendemeer and Peter Fraser Reserve Toilet.

$46,750 for a Feasibility Study in to Queenstown Waterfront Infrastructure Needs.

Rotorua Lakes Council

$293,056 for redevelopment of toilet, pedestrian facilities and parking improvements at Tarawera Landing Reserve.

Ruapehu District Council

$129,808 for installation of BigBelly bins in key locations.

$32,900 for a Feasibility Study into Pipiriki Water and Wastewater.

Selwyn District Council

$286,050 for the improvement and capacity enhancement of Freedom Camping at Coe’s Ford and Lakeside Domain.

$157,131 for the installation of freedom camping facilities at Whakamaru.

$56,961 for changing facilities, toilet and septic tank upgrade at Adams Road , Ngarimu Bay.

$63,275 for upgrade  and increase capacity of toilet and sealing of carpark at Te Karo Bay.

$301,835 for new larger capacity toilets and sealed and sealed carpark at Hotwater Beach.

$238,504 for a new larger toilet complex at Brown Street.

$417,601 for demolition and construction of a larger capacity toilet block facility at Pepe Reserve.

$95,088 for larger toilet facility, and construction of a deep bore, pump and filtration unit to improve water supply issues at Tapu Domain.

$98,474 for construction of a pedestrian footbridge and boardwalk to provide safe access to the beach at Taiwawe Stream.

Waitaki District Council

$300,000 for enhancement of toilet facilities at Campbell’s Bay and Moeraki.

Waitomo District Council

$206,000 to enlarge public toilet capacity at Mokau.

$160,500 for the installation of public toilets at Kiritehere and Waikawau.

Wairoa District Council

$229,500 for upgrade of waste management facilities and install vehicle waste station on Mahia Peninsula.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council

$387,100 for KiwiCamp facility at TECT All Terrain Park.

$96,860 for installation of public toilets, carpark extension, signage and bike shelter at Waihi Beach Dam.

Westland District Council

$122,000 for replacement and installation of larger capacity water reservoir at Haast.

$468,000 for upgrade of water treatment plant and back-up generator at Fox Glacier.

Whangarei District Council

$1,114,000 for the restoring the Mauri of Matapouri - Stage One.

$539,000 for new carpark and toilets to increase capacity and bus parking at Abbey Caves.
