Share your feedback on the employment dispute system

Published: 05 May 2026

Public engagement opened on 5 May and will close on 31 July 2026.

Feedback is being sought from individuals and organisations to better understand how people experience the system, what works well, and what could be improved.

Areas where feedback is sought include:

  • the time disputes take to be resolved
  • the costs of resolving disputes
  • the role of employment advocates
  • the impact of disputes on businesses, employees, workplaces and more widely.

People are encouraged to share their experiences across the full spectrum of employment disputes – from resolving issues early in the workplace, to formal mediation and disputes before the Employment Relations Authority and the Employment Court.

The feedback will be used to help inform decisions on possible next steps.
