The funding will support upgrades to cruise visitor facilities at South Bay Marina and Wakatu Quay, improvements at Pohowera Park, and enhancements to the northern entrance to Kaikōura township, including visitor parking, public toilets, signage and landscaping.
Kaikōura District Council will contribute 27% of project costs and will lead delivery in partnership with local stakeholders.
The investment is expected to improve visitor access and amenities, support increased visitation and encourage longer stays in the region.
