A $4 million investment will increase Tourism New Zealand’s international marketing activity in core markets of Australia, the United States and China. The funding will expand existing marketing activity and build on the strong recovery in international visitor numbers over the past year, helping convert interest in visiting into bookings.
An additional one‑off investment of $1 million will support the attraction of international business events through Tourism New Zealand’s Conference Assistance Programme. Business events are a high‑value segment of the visitor mix, with multi‑day conferences supporting $925 million in economic activity and generating more than 735,000 international visitor nights in 2025.
The funding is aimed at maintaining momentum in international visitation and delivering economic benefits for communities across New Zealand.
Funding comes from the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy.
