We work closely with a number of agencies to promote science and innovation in New Zealand. Together, we seek strong links between the science and innovation sector and overseas research interests, as well as with New Zealand businesses and the wider public.
The science and innovation systems are critical to boosting the number of knowledge-intensive, internationally-connected firms. We are working to lift business expenditure on research and development, improve the benefits to the wider economy from business development assistance, and harness the potential of the digital economy.
We use ORCID iDs as unique identifiers for research funding to accurately link research publications, data and other research activities to researchers.
We are undertaking public consultation to determine the future of the New Zealand Telecommunications Relay Service, seeking views on what services and equipment are required to meet the needs of users.
During June we consulted on the exposure draft of the Telecommunications (Fibre Regulatory Settings) Regulations 2019, made under section 226 of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (the Act).
