The National Science Challenges were established in 2014 and finished in June 2024. The aim of these challenges was to tackle the biggest science-based issues and opportunities facing New Zealand. Endeavour Fund Investment Plan 2025-2027 published
In July 2021 Bragato Research Institute received $5 million (excl GST) for a Future Winegrowing Platform to support the transition to be a financially self-sustaining research institute over a 2 year period from July 2021 to June 2023.
In 2015 Bragato Research Institute received $12.5 million (excl GST) to establish and build a Blenheim-based research institute over a 5.5 year period from June 2017 to December 2022.
5 new research projects have been awarded funding as part of the New Zealand China Strategic Research Alliance.
