The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, with the Office for Disability Issues, asked for feedback on six proposed changes to help move to better, more modern video interpreting and relay services to help Deaf, deafblind, hearing-impaired, and speech-impaired New Zealanders to communicate with hearing-people over the phone.
The Government is seeking feedback from the building and construction sector on key issues they have experienced or identified in the Building Code related to fire safety.
The Government has passed the Building (Earthquake-prone Building Deadlines and Other Matters) Amendment Bill that will extend earthquake-prone building remediation deadlines by 4 years.
Option 5 would consist of establishing restrictions on the import, supply, or use of engineered stone in workplaces in New Zealand, similar to Australia’s decision to adopt a national ban on engineered stone (please refer to Annex V).
