Through the 2026 Ara Whaihua funding round of the He Ara Whakahihiko Capability Fund, we received 57 proposals. The Government is investing in 19 work programmes that focus primarily on the pathway to commercialisation and/or economic growth from excellent science.
Today the Government released Going For Growth, setting out its approach to enable economic growth, to deliver more jobs, higher incomes, and money to invest in services like our schools, hospitals and roads.

The Engineering Associates Act 1961 (the Act) establishes a voluntary registration framework for engineering associates. The Act outlines the training and experience a person must have before they may be registered as an engineering associate. Registration allows the person to use the ‘Registered Engineering Associate’ (REA) credential.
