The Kiwi Space Activator will support New Zealand businesses and universities to move novel space technologies and concepts from the laboratory to the skies – whether high-altitude or in orbit – further strengthening New Zealand’s reputation as a hub for space innovation.
Capability developed through these projects could contribute to a future national space mission, with potential applications such as resource management, monitoring illegal fishing and more.
The programme is administered by the New Zealand Space Agency.
Programme overview:
- 2 rounds of funding over 2 years.
- Up to $600,000 per successful project.
- Total funding available: $1.8 million.
- Minimum of 3 projects supported.
- Ready to fly within 18-24 months.
Applications are open now for round one funding, and close at 11.59pm on Sunday 1 March 2026.
