Today marks World Consumer Rights Day, and the Consumer Protection team at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment wants to remind New Zealanders of the protections and guarantees they can expect when purchasing goods and services in New Zealand.

The Government will be reviewing consumer credit law to ensure settings are targeted appropriately to the risk profile of the lending. MBIE is developing terms of reference for the review. This section also includes information about previous reviews of consumer credit law.
