How to apply for funding to host the Infectious Diseases Research Platform opportunity and how applications are assessed.

Who can apply

For a proposal to be considered for assessment it must meet the eligibility criteria for proposals as set out below in the Opportunity to host the Infectious Diseases Research Platform: Call for Proposals 2022 document.

Proposals that we consider don't meet these criteria will be declined for funding on eligibility grounds.

The application and assessment process

All eligible proposals will be assessed by an MBIE-appointed assessment panel against the assessment criteria detailed in the Call for proposals. The assessment panel will provide a recommendation which will inform the final decision on which proposal will be selected. All applicants will be notified of the assessment outcome.

Your proposal needs to be completed in Word using the template provided and sent by email as an attachment to:

It must be submitted to MBIE no later than 5pm, 26 November 2021. You must meet the deadlines for submitting your proposal. Late proposals will not be considered.

Important dates

  • 3 November 2021 - The opportunity is open for you to submit proposals.
  • 26 November 2021 - All proposals must be submitted to us by 5pm.
  • 10 December 2021 - Applicants are advised of the outcome.
  • December 2021/January 2022 - Establishment contract period begins.
  • March to May 2022 - Final assessment and contracting.
  • 1 June 2022 - Platform contracts period begins.

Conflicts of interest

We will publish the names and biographies of the Host SSIF assessment panel members before the proposal submission closing date.

If you identify a potential conflict of interest with your proposal, email us with the following details as soon as possible so we can discuss this further with you:

  • your contact phone number
  • the assessor’s name or names
  • the reason for your concern.
