Construction Skills Action Plan

Lifting the capability and capacity of the construction workforce is a priority for the government, and key to the achievement of the Government’s goals for KiwiBuild, health, education, transport and regional development.

The vision of the Construction Skills Strategy is that the government collaborates with industry to drive a rapid and sustainable shift that delivers the right people, at the right time, with the right skills, to meet New Zealand’s current and future construction needs.

The Government has now approved the Skills Action Plan which encompasses six priority initiatives to help ensure a fit-for-purpose construction workforce now and in the future.
