What areas could you be working in?
Building System Performance
We are the stewards and the central regulator of New Zealand’s building system. Our role is to work with sector stakeholders to deliver and support compliance with fit-for-purpose, future focussed building regulation that protects people’s safety and property, promote sustainability and strengthen the performance of the building industry.
Commerce, Consumers and Communications
We provide advice on regulatory settings and policies that incentivise businesses to compete, innovate, invest and trade; allow consumers to purchase with confidence; and ensure that New Zealand benefits from the effective use of radio spectrum and ICT.
Energy and Resource Markets
We provide policy and regulatory advice on energy markets, strategic advice, operational regulation, compliance services and external sector leadership to ensure that New Zealand’s oil, gas, mineral and coal resources are effectively managed.
We lead the management and responsible development of New Zealand’s energy and resource sector, from the upstream development of our country’s petroleum and mineral assets to the downstream management of energy markets.
New Zealand Government Procurement and Property
We set the standard for good procurement and property practice across the state sector. We achieve this through good government policy, excellent procurement practices, effective property management and strategic advice. NZGPP works in partnership with government agencies to build procurement and property capabilities, and seeks to make procurement and property management easier through systems and frameworks that drive quality decision-making.
