RFP opens for Government suppliers of electric vehicles
Published: 26 June 2020
New Zealand Government Procurement and Property (NZGPP) is looking to increase the range of electric vehicles (EVs) for government agencies to purchase.
John Ivil, General Manager New Zealand Government Procurement and Property, today announced submissions are open for EV suppliers to submit proposals to be added to the All-of-Government (AoG) Motor Vehicles Contract.
“There are currently 13 vehicle suppliers on the contract with 10 of those suppliers able to provide EVs for purchase or lease. As the EV market is continuously evolving we are ensuring our contract is adapting to reflect this, so we are putting this opportunity out to the market,” says John Ivil.
“The government has a goal for its light vehicle fleet to be emissions free by 2025/26, where practicable. Releasing this request for proposals (RFP) will update our solution to ensure we are maximising options for government agencies as they work to reduce their vehicle fleet emissions, and support the government to achieve a zero carbon future,” John Ivil says.
Suppliers of EVs who are not currently on the AoG Motor Vehicles supplier panel are encouraged to submit proposals via the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) by 30 July 2020.
