The Migration Trends Key Indicators Report summarises key indicators of migration trends for the current financial year. The report’s main focus is on two areas: the New Zealand Residence Programme (NZRP) and temporary visa entry.
Migration Research also produces the annual Migration Trends and Outlook report, which contains a wider range of analyses and more depth.

This annual report is the 14th in a series that examines trends in temporary and permanent migration to and from New Zealand. The report updates trends to 2013/14 and compares recent immigration patterns with patterns identified in previous years.

The Migration Trends Key Indicators report for the 2012-13 financial year shows there was a five per cent rise in the number of people approved for a temporary work visa. This was due to increases in the number of working holidaymakers, study to work visa holders, horticulture and viticulture seasonal workers and Essential Skills workers.
