Targeted independent review of WorkSafe New Zealand

In late 2015, Doug Martin was commissioned to undertake a targeted independent review of WorkSafe New Zealand which focussed on its engagement, assessing the quality of its interactions with stakeholders given WorkSafe’s education, engagement and enforcement roles.

Overall, Mr Martin found that, given WorkSafe’s current stage of development, it is performing well and is on track to becoming a high performing state sector organisation. A number of recommendations where given by Mr Martin on areas where he considered WorkSafe should focus moving forward.

WorkSafe has welcomed the report, agreeing with the recommendations and providing a response outlining how WorkSafe is addressing matters raised in the report.
