The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is consulting on proposed changes to temporary work visa settings, through the Essential Skills visa policy. The focus of this review is to manage the settlement expectations of lower-skilled migrants who have no pathway to residence, and reinforce the temporary nature of the Essential Skills visa.
